I’m sure you all have seen Prada’s Spring collection everywhere by now. If you think you haven’t, you have! You just didn’t know it. According to Fashionista, clothes from the collection have been seen on 48 magazine covers already!

The silhouettes are so simple, even mimicking scrubs a nurse would wear. What’s making such a splash though, are all the bold colors, stripes, and color blocking. Everything in the collection is so fresh and bright, making them perfect spring staples.
My absolute favorite look from this collection is the last photo. The blue monkeys and bananas- that shirt is spectacular (I know, that’s such a fun word and I rarely use, but it so applies here). That whole combo is just genius. The only thing I can’t stand are those flatforms in the second photo (from top). I’m sure they’re comfortable and all, but they’re just too plain and man-repellery* for my taste.
How to wear these looks in real life?
Focus on the color choices in this collection, and try to find pieces that are neon bright, and pair them with something else just as bright. Use black stripes to tone down the color.
Hint: Some are calling Zara, Prada’s baby sister. (Although I really don’t think Prada owns bright colors and stripes.) Check out Zara’s Spring ’11 lookbook for great pieces to add to your spring/summer wardrobe.
Also see this post about where to find simple bright striped shirts- they’re coming up with brand new colors soon!
Will you actually wear brights this season? How will you pull them off? If you wear anything this fun, send me photos and I may just blog about your style!
