My friends got together to throw me what could possibly be the cutest, most fashionable baby shower. EVER. Although it wasn’t a surprise, I knew they were throwing me one, they just didn’t give me any details. When I walked in to my friend’s awesomely open loft, I was blown away! They had been working on this shower for more than a month with secret meetings and other fun stuff I didn’t know about. I love the little speech they gave once all of the guests had settled in. It went something along the lines of: When you’re a mother you have to make so many sacrifices, and although I was dying to go to NYFW and LuckyFABB in NYC this Sept, I obviously couldn’t be there. So they decided to get together and bring NYFW to me! They also mentioned that most baby showers are for the baby, but this one was all for me! These ladies sure know how to make me feel special!
And this was the result of all of their hard work! Guests got to walk the red carpet in their fashionable best, and design different looks to befit a pregnant woman. The hostesses created these awesome backdrops where we all got our photos taken. The NY skyline with the pregnant Statue of Liberty was so beyond creative and hilarious. You can even see that the traditional “diaper cake” got a NYC overhaul. On the table (above photo) two of my photos graced the “covers” of Lucky Magazine with “in depth interviews” about being pregnant and being a fashion blogger. Guests wrote little notes to me on the black border with a silver pen. On the TV in the corner was a continuous slideshow of the Fall 2012 shows complemented with images from my blog.

My girls made all of the food, decorations and desserts themselves! I mean, cupcakes, little sandwiches and even macarons, Laduree style. The favors for the guests to take home were these homemade and handmade cookies! YES. I said homemade. I mean. Really. MashaAllah. I’m so blessed to have such wonderful friends and to everyone who came out to celebrate with us- thank you! I had the most lovely time. EVER.
